Roles and Responsibilities

Carries out the professional responsibilities of a General Practice physician in alignment with his/her training and in accordance with the privileges outlined by the credentials committee.
Out-patient clinics: Evaluates and treats patients visiting the out-patient clinics. Gathers medical history, assesses the patient, establishes a diagnosis, and prescribes medications and other treatments. Seeks specialist consultation when necessary. 
Monitors patients throughout their illnesses at appropriately scheduled intervals. Requests laboratory and x-ray tests and interprets results as needed. Orders or implements preventive measures as indicated. Conducts physical examinations on employees, their spouses, and children. Provides recommendations regarding fitness for employment. Takes necessary actions to counsel patients on any physical issues identified during the examinations and makes suitable arrangements for treatment and follow-up. Informs the Company of employees’ limitations in their ability to perform work due to health issues. Must be knowledgeable about local or industrial factors that may lead to disease or dysfunction (e.g., noise, toxic substances, child delivery and feeding practices, etc.). 
Emergency Receiving Room: Assesses which cases qualify as emergencies, provides prompt treatment to the patient as required, makes swift decisions, and selects the appropriate consultant for immediate evaluation and treatment if necessary. Advises nursing staff on medical issues; responds to radio/telephone inquiries from remote locations seeking medical guidance; may occasionally need to participate in emergency ambulance trips or otherwise exercise sound judgment in addressing legitimate outside emergencies. This responsibility primarily occurs at night and on weekends. (applicable to the relevant District).
Engages in peer review and performance enhancement activities as well as other professional endeavors. Attends continuing medical education (CME) sessions as time allows. Delivers patient care in accordance with the best available evidence-based practices. Completes all medical.
